Uber Sail was launched at 8:00 AM EDT from the MMA Training Ship State of Maine (TSSOM) on June 08 approximately 536 nautical miles south of San St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada at Latitude: 38°24'45.65" North, Longitude: 52°15'6.46" West. The pictures below were taken aboard TSSOM after refitting Uber Sail with a new mast and assuring that she was ready for months at sea.
Fourteen days after launch, Uber Sail stopped reporting her position to iBOATtrack.com at 4 AM EDT on June 22 when 382 nautical miles SE of St. John's, NL, Canada. At that time, Uber Sail's had sailed approximately 764 miles in 14 days.
Fourteen days later, at 10 PM on July 6, Uber Sail began to intermittantly post position reports on iBOATtrack.com -- please keep watching for position updates on our Google Earth Plugi-In.
